Is the internet broken in the MA region? Why is it always like pulling teeth to get the news after a race? Maybe we need to take up a collection and get them onto the ‘mylaps’ standard that apparently the rest of the world uses. I know individuals can be ‘too busy’ but c’mon 20 guys we can only get like 4 posts and no results?
Off the top of my head this could be way off. On Saturday the order was
1.Skeen (ran fast lap of 2:18.2)
2.J Allen (ran fast lap of 2:18.1)
3.Carter
4.Cobetto
5.Bennett
6.Herrington
7.Hunter (I did like a 2:21 I think)
Not sure the order after me but I know Curran & Al Taylor were close. Others will have to weigh in.
DNF
Goldthwaite
M. Davidson
On Sunday, I think this is the top 6
Myself and Rick Mariani dropped out after 1 lap and I know bennett was off in turn 4 on the first lap and J Allen and D Herrington were off in hog pen.
Thats all I got.

Have the actual results been posted yet.
Thanks, Robert Patton
Packer told me he was working on them last night…thought they might be ready by today but I guess not.
I have Sat. result sheet and it looks like this:

Robert, Just because they wrote “stay as sweet as you are, don’t ever change” in your annual, doesn’t mean it has to be a way of life.

I think I finished 7th, with Al and Jon in 8th and 9th, don’t know the order past that. I wasn’t too far behind Carter and Travis for a while but then kept getting stuck behind a 911 and they were gone. I then decided to take it easy because Al was a bit back and even if I pushed I wasn’t going to catch the cars in front. Spent a few laps solo but took it a little too easy on the last lap and Al caught back up and came pretty close to passing me (with a little help from a 944, some sort of traffic karma I guess )
I think Sean is right. Jon and Harrington got by me on the next to the last lap after their off in Hogpen, so I believe Harrington was 10 and I was 11.
It was an interesting race with a lot of traffic and some slippery conditions. Glad I stayed in the whole race as it was good experience. I lost a few positions on the first lap as Mike and I discussed strategy and I stayed behind Simon on the start. I didn’t have time to talk to Simon before the race and didn’t know he was going to go in early due to conditions. Simon - will not make that mistake again:ohmy:
The incident with Jeff and Rick Mariani was an unfortunate one on Saturday, with Rick being “in the right place at the wrong time.” We all had a good discussion with JJ and Grumpy about the event as Jeff described earlier in this post. Looking forward to CMP in May. Ed
When I got to the first lap P 944 he was going so slow I thought he was pitting…but he stayed mid track in hog pen going slow as hell…While I am bitching, it seems just about every qualifying session at VIR we have tow trucks, ambulances, etc…Also did anyone else notice fluids spewing from Bobbie’s 944? Then she spun on her own crap going into the lower S’s, Returned (!) to the track and blew it up by the upper S’s…

Hey Al:
Took the liberty of sharing your posts with Bobbie and others on the 944 Cup forum. Of course everyone there is shocked at your disappointing VIR results and wishes you “The Best” for the rest of 2008 season.
On a more positve note, Carter shared with me that he had received numerous positive comments from E30 racers about 944’s giving way to oncoming E30’s. This report was appreciated by drivers at Sunday’s 944 driver meeting, where we emphasised again for drivers to give way to lapping cars when possible to minimize the impact on class racing.
For your enjoyment here’s a video from a 944 at the back of the pack showing some good E30 leader action: http://web.mac.com/rcarpen22/iWeb/Site/VIR%20March.html
Some great E30 stills in sequence:

Here are the pictures I tried to send the other day. Most of them are from Saturday.
Cheers!

I had a blast at VIR last weekend! Saturday was better than Sunday, but I’m not complaining! A bad day at the track is still better than a Good day at the office!
Thanks to Tom & Jeff Hall for their southern hospitality!
A small write-up & videos are here:

I also looked at some of y’all’s (sp?):S videos & I have realized that I have a very long way to go!
