With the rain (drizzle) being so light over the weekend… what were most of you doing tire-wise?
Most were running shaved R888’s. I ran old RA1’s the whole weekend. Occasionally it was wet enough for wets but the majority ran dry tires the whole weekend.

My quick recap:

Saturday - Qualified 13th and finished 10th. This was my first race since last year so it took about half of the race for me to get comfortable, but then the second half of the race was a lot of fun.

Sunday - Again qualified 13th. I tip-toed most of the race in the wet and then decided to pull in. I’ll admit that VIR in the wet humbled me. I was uncomfortable and tense the whole race and felt that I had no business being on the track. I loaded the car up in one piece and now have a goal of getting better at driving in the wet.

In summary, it was good to be back at the track and to get back in the car and have the car work perfectly. I’m looking forward to CMP this weekend!

It’s looking like your “getting better in the wet” goal is gonna be getting some much needed practice this weekend :frowning:

You need help deciding which old, bald, hard tires to run?

1- The weather sucked, bad. I had just gotten the rains shaved on wed…

2- I do not enjoy running with the 944 group, it is large and has a wide range of HP and talent. I can only vote with my $'s but will race with MA at VIR and CMP…There is no excuse for some of the crap those guys do…

3- I spun twice on Saturday, cant blame that entirely on 944’s…but I still finished 11th. I have a pretty good video, especially the part with me running down Caterbury like a dog. It also has a good close up shot of Tom Hall’s head, I will try to post this week.

4- Sun I started 15th…and drove conservatively to 8th, which says a lot about conditions. I was hoping to have a couple of good races with Curran, that never came about and with the conditions that may be a good thing. I ran Travis’ full treads on Sunday which worked better than old worn out RA-1’s

See yall next Friday at CMP, I got fresh shaved year old 14 inch RA 1’s!

I’d be willing to bet the guy in the 944 (1st lap Saturday race) had to pay his dry cleaner a little something extra to get the poop out of his drawers when skeen and johnny came through roller coaster :pinch:

Nice race guys

Mike the pass you made on johnny at south bend has to be one of the best i’ve seen in awhile. You can here your mirrors hit haha. Bravo!

When I got to the first lap P 944 he was going so slow I thought he was pitting…but he stayed mid track in hog pen going slow as hell…I gotta get my video up…but that guy allowed Curran to pass me on the straight, then I spun coming off the curb…blah blah blah…While I am bitching, it seems just about every qualifying session at VIR we have tow trucks, ambulances, etc…Also did anyone else notice fluids spewing from Bobbie’s 944? Then she spun on her own crap going into the lower S’s, Returned (!) to the track and blew it up by the upper S’s…

OK, I am done.

It seems that the race results are all to predictable.

Have the actual results been posted yet.
