The easy way to do this is to have Bimmerworld press the control arm bushings into new lollypops, or whatever the circular widgets are called that hold the bushings. You’ll save some money by simply sending them back and having them do it. Otherwise you’ll probably have to call around to shops and find someone who has a press and is familiar with this. Alternately some of they guys here have their own shops like Jim Pantas and Robert Patton. They could probably do it for an appropriate donation to their children’s college fund.
Note that a bolt is supposed to be put into the lollypops and into the bushing to prevent the bushing from rotating. So there needs to be a hole in the lollypop that has threads tapped into it. If not, make that hole before putting the bushing in.
You do not need a press to get the control arm into the bushing. Only the bushing into the lollypop.
I had these replaced a couple weeks ago. Rob@BimmerWorld suggested Delrin over Urethane. He said that the Urethane ones are pretty hard, so they’re not a bad solution, but still not as good as Delrin for a dedicated track car.
