Dash bar

#1

I need to vent before I shoot my mechanic.
How fricking hard is it to install a dash bar and put the dash and cluster back together? It’s been in the shop for two days now.
I will definately take those welding classes this summer, I can’t stand people who can’t keep their promises. They promised the car yesterday, then today at noon and then around 5pm. Now it’s tomorrow.
You guys have pics?

here is a pick of my dash bar…
Hope you get your car back soon.

That’s a strange A pillar bar.
My dash bar goes above the steering wheel, I’ve seen other guys with that set up.
Was that difficult to put the cluster back?

never took it out.
we removed the doors and snaked it through.
seemed easier than removing the dash.
By not removing the dash my cage builder was able to spend extra time on the additional foot protection bars near the floor board, a must have according to a lot of racers.

Here is the one on Simon’s car. I would like the cross bar to meet at the same node point for the foot protection and the door X but for some reason in this cage it did not. Anyway, I do not like knee bars, I prefer the cross bar be like any other tube, pushed as close to the chassis as possible.

Uh, oops, too large, once again…

Nice, very nice.
I’m not satisfied with my welder. How much do they usually charge per hour when you have a shope or mobile shop and you are licensed?
