**D-Force LTW5 - Spec E30 Fitment**

#1

We love Spec E30’s so we have yet another product to keep this series alive and popular. D-Force a company who jumped into the motorsports wheel scene a few years ago with an ultra light 17x9 for E36’s is going to make us a 15x7 specific for E30 cars. Final production wheels will be between 13-13.5 pounds with optimized MOI. Meaning they are a really stinking light wheel with material added around the hub area where it doesn’t hurt performance as bad. We are ordering these specifically with Spec E30 in our sights. Strength will be very good, we expect them to be very robust as we won’t have to skimp on strength to make weight with this design.

Size is the same as what we’ve offered for years. 15x7 and 25 offset. They are very reasonably priced for a premium wheel at the expected $115 retail.

http://store.bimmerworld.com/Product1006 - Here is the E36/46/90 version to see what they look like. I’ll post a few pics on cars later.

Colors: This is what is available on the first batch.
100 x silver
100 x flat black
50 x anthracite
30 x white
20 x gloss black

The good news, I will do an introductory sale for preorders. The wheels are expected to arrive in 8-10 weeks. I will have these listed on the site shortly to order online. Anybody ordering wheels before stock is delivered will get them at $105 per wheel. This should make these a pretty good deal. If you don’t like ordering online, give us a call.

Those are sweet.

Do you think they’re as strong as the TD’s?

#3

They better be, I’m going to put them on my car. B)

The design could be significantly lighter than 13# says Tom the designer. He is putting material back onto the rim for us basically. Some of that will be in for extra strength the rest for what would essentially be ‘ballast’.

#4

this is great news.
Why did you stick with ET25 rather than something like ET15?
thanks,
bruce

#5

Nice - and the price on that pre-order deal is great!

#6

Street guys basically.

I can’t count on every customer car having rolled fenders. I figured also that with the 15mm hubcentric spacer on a ET25 it’s a sweet fit with a 205 on the Spec Racers. I guess I could have spec’ed them as a ET15. Then they could have made the ‘rim’ of the wheel even lighter. I think this would have created more issues for this wheel outside our little race market. I have to be able to sell at least half to non racers or it’s not economical. To get decent pricing you have to sell alot of wheels.

#7

They look real sharp!

#8

Nice! Hubcentric?

#9

When will these be shipping out? I want a set for the race March 8-9th…Thanks for doing this, I will be calling you tomorrow…

#10

No exact ETA yet. It’s expected to be about 8-10 weeks, we just gave the go ahead on this today. It’s a brand new product so I’ve learned to not give a ship date until Fedex Trade Networks calls me when they clear customs. I know the timing is tight for some and we’ll do our best, it’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

That’s the plan!

Finally an option outside of the TD’s hand cobbled in England or wherever. These look good.

I’m sure some have seen the ‘other deal’ out there by now for these, it’s a very interesting story on the business side. I found it interesting getting undercut on a wheel that we have a short period exclusive on. We were allowed this right as we spec’ed it and commissioned it’s build. For those that do not know another vendor has simply conjured a wheel line, based on my post here and in the rarely looked at bf.com wheel section, in an attempt to bully this small manufacturer into allowing them into the market. They have offered a cheaper price and brake lines basically for cost. An added result by giving a cheaper price assuming discount level was in order to keep me from gaining preorders. I must assume this was done to make me look like an asshole in front of the spec racing group we prefer, and the group I’ve chosen to build a car to compete with. I’m extremely disappointed another vendor who we are not in direct competition with would attempt to pull a stunt like this, I don’t think I need to explain further my thoughts towards this person. I had hoped that we could offer a nice inexpensive wheel to you guys that wasn’t a cheap wheel. I knew many would be getting ready for the season shortly and scraping the budget together for spares, as am I. I had hoped the timing of the sale would help us get a few sales and give the guys I’m racing with a good deal during a period we couldn’t step on another D-force distributors toes. Look for more new wheels and more big news from us and D-force in the coming season if this works out. We like them a lot and they make good stuff for racing at a good price.

I’ll actually have these in stock so you might want to order them from us. This is not our typical sales method, I feel like they are putting me into a race to 0.

…our brake lines are handmade here, in house and fully pressure tested with the best materials we could find. They are better than the other guys anyway.

Such drama over e30 wheels???

#14

There are other issues at hand than just the Spec E30 wheels.

#15

I just sent you an e-mail Rob. Might find it interesting.

John

#16

Rob - but do you have the exclusive ‘bronze’ color?

Hopefully everyone here knows and orders from the people that support the racers in Spec E30.

#17

I can’t remember the last time I bought anything from anyone other than Bimmerworld. There’s a good reason behind that.

If I wasn’t saving up for my spec exhaust I might order a set …

Signed,
UUC sucks (alright, its JP on Scott’s computer)

#18

See, I feel like I miss out on all the good drama. I take it UUC is guilty of some shady business practices? I experienced just how crappy the after market car industry really is when I worked for BR Performance. Moss Motors and a few of their vendors did many questionable things over the years.

If it makes you feel better, since I started running Spec E30 I went from the “everything at the lowest price” mentality to “support those that support you”. These look like awesome wheels and I thank you for getting them to market. I have already planned to order a set from you closer to the delivery date. Please keep us all informed and don’t feel like you need to lose money to keep my business.

Speaking of rolled fenders. It took forever to get my 16x8 et0’s to fit. This is my daily driver.
