Cylinder head or complete engine needed

#1

As some of you may recall, I did not complete the race Sunday at Barber in May and needed help pushing the Old #5 into the trailer. I checked into the problem 2 weeks ago and found that the end of the #6 spark plug was ‘bit off’ and there was miscellaneous chunkage apparent in the cylinder area.:frowning:

So…I will need a new head soon. (and maybe more) Anyone have a spare available? Only healthy heads please.

Or a donor car with a good engine?
I posted this in the SE section, because I trust you folks and I’d like to inspect before I buy. Thanks. Jon

So, the #6 intake valve stem broke and dropped into the cylinder. It is now embedded in the head. The piston has a scar about .75 inches long and 1/8 inch deep. Can this be ground/buffed out and still be useful? Or do I need a new bottom end?

I may be able to purchase an engine rebuilt by Chris Welbourn in the Atlanta area. Does anyone have any feedback on his work? experience? Thanks.
