Cylinder Head Bolt Replacement

#1

Hey Guys, it looks at if my motor has the older style (prone to snapping) cylinder head bolts on it.

I have lucked out till now that they have held up, but I am going to replace them,

Can I replace them one at a time and not worry about warping the head? or do I need to do the full head unbolting procedure (in increments)then do the 3 phase bolt tightening procedure?

I’ve read that the easy way to do this is one bolt at a time. But why replace them if you’re not planning on removing the head? I’d just leave them in place.

they can snap.

Scott is correct. If you don’t want to pull the head, the procedure is to replace one bolt at a time.
