Anybody got a shim kit or other technique? Is it even legal with us?
Thx.
Christian
It’s legal if you use factory spring pads.

Search “spring pad” or “spring mat” for more quasi-mis-information.
You can definitely add some “wedge” by incorporating thicker spring pads. We offer a E30 15mm rear pad set for this particular reason. If you have access to scales add some wedge to the left rear and see where you end up.
Don’t forget to adjust swaybar links afterward.

Why left rear? Isn’t the right rear usually the lightest?
<Hmm. Maybe the next obsession could be suspension…>
The biggest concern with corner balancing is having your cross weights equal. You want your LR and RF to weight the same as your LF and RR.
I found that my E30 required about 15-20mm of wedge to the left rear to get these weights equal with my 140lbs in the driver seat.

Brian, what sizes of rubber spaces are available?
After doing a little math with our spring rates, it appears that 5 mm at the right rear wheel results in a 52 lb (about 1%) change in cross weight. 15 mm yields almost 3%. My current setup is a 48.8% cross weight. I’m wondering if I’d notice any difference at with a perfect cross weight at 50%? That being said, 5 mm change at the right rear would get my car near perfect.

Did you weigh your car with your sways disconnected?
We have 15mm pads available. I bet the stock pads are close to 5mm.
Yea - weigh the car with the bars disconnected, corner balanced it, then adjust your swaybar links.

Check the part numbers, but I think these are correct:
33531136385 5 mm
33531136386 7.5 mm
33531136387 10 mm
I think I got these off realoem.com.

I did not, but intend to. If I only had a set of scales in my garage… Isn’t there an Android App that could do this?

Real racing nerds know, the engine is just a lump of metal and fluids that spoils my handling… Handling is where the nerd meets the track…
You can be studying handling and get it right on the money and then change your base “competency” and have to start all over again!
Love it.
