Contingency and series decal considerations

#1

Hey guys, first I want to thank you all for believing in the series and coming out to play! All the effort that has been put forth by us is coming to fruition in the form of a really fun series.

I wanted to comment on the vinyl requirements for the series. In order to get contingency money AND to enter the race in general we require the following:

“SSF” Number panels on each door, minimum 8" tall numbers per panel. Valley Motorwerks vinyls covering the SSF lettering on the top of the panel. It will bring consistency to the series and people will be able to spot the SpecE30 cars apart from the VERY few E30’s running in PT.

The series is unofficially the “Valley Motorwerks Norcal SpecE30 Series”. Jeremy Croisett, the NASA sponosor liason, and I spoke at length regarding the potential of the series last year and what we bring to the table as a company and promoter. We did not feel the need to make it official since every car at the time was either built by us or had large VMWERKS vinyls on them anyway. Consequently I do not have NASA officials checking the cars before they go out onto the track. It was left up to me to take care of this administrative duty. The 2009 season will bring more competitors and hopefully other supporting shops. Having Mike at Berkeley Motorworks and Sean Trapp / Edge Motorworks involved will raise the bar next year.

I want to make sure that we are all ready by the next race with the vinyls that you’ll need. I will have at least 4 pairs of the SSF panels. If you need numbers cut for the panels please let me know what you want and I will make them for you FREE the first time around.

The 2009 season will officially be the “Valley Motorwerks SpecE30 Series”. NASA officials will be checking the cars for the required vinyls.

If anyone has any questions please call the shop at 916.636.9526. I can setup the numbers you need and get them cut by the Infineon event.

I am just finishing my cage and all of my safety equipment. I will be going for my provisional license in April at Sears point. Bill Arnold built my car and so I will have his lettering on the side of the car. I would love to get a set of the new number vinyls as I am about to have all of my vinyls done and I do not want to have to re-do anything. I am really looking forward to getting out and joining the growing group of nor cal spec e30 racers. Do you have any information on the rear or front window spec e30 requirements. I want to put my construction companies name on the front windshield. My car number is 224 and my email is jsclough@eyemagine.com. I will give you guys a call tomorrow at your shop.

We are in a holding pattern on the number panel requirement until a decision is made. The idea behind having the Valley Motorwerks decal on the SSF number panel was to save space for sponsors like Bill Arnold, Berkeley Motorworks and Edge Motorworks just some of the other shops I have gotten involved in the series.
If you want to run the panels you can get them from Gogogear.com. Our decal was designed to fit over the SSF Autoparts portion of the number panel. I have 4 sets that I am bringing to Infineon along with our sponsorship vinyls if you need them.

BTW I remember you form an HPDE day congratulations on getting the car done. Bill is going to give you a VERY well prepped car!

Thanks Walter!

I am looking forward to the April Infineon event and look forward to talking to you again. BTW you are right bill has done a spectacular job in prepping my car. I will wait and talk to you at Infineon and probably get the SSF vinyl at that time. Then down the line “when”) Valley Motorworks is required it will all work. No matter what I will have independent Bill representation on the car.

Thanks

Scott

Having Bill’s name on the car should just about worry everyone! Too bad he’s such a nice guy, ya can’t find fault with him… EVER.
