Connecting an analog gauge to a Traqmate

#1

If you have the TraqData or TraqDataII module it’s easy enough. You need a resister. PM me and I’ll send one to you. That will save you a trip to Radio Shack.

I’ve wired up my oil pressure at the pump. Still have to calibrate it tho. But in order to do that you have to have, ah, oil pressure.

A better way to calibrate the sensor would be on the bench using compressed air. That will allow you to get several data points and thus establish what the response curve is.

Analog sensors with Traqmate are fairly straight forward with either a TraqDataI or TraqDataII as you mentioned.

With pressure sensor you can enable the Analog channel and use the DU to display the current pressure if you want idle to be your “low” point of calibration. Drive the car around a bit and download your data and see what your trace shows. You then can set alarms for low/high values if you like.

We took a similar approach for our TPS kit as we currently are prototyping our throttle position kit and used it at Infineon Raceway last weekend with good results. Since there is voltage already on the line you can set the high/low points by clicking the channel in the IO data when you connect to the DU. By having either the gas on or off you can set the high/low voltage points accordingly and it will automatically create the scale. When we bring the throttle position kit out of development we’ll have a full write up.

Give us a call if you have any specific questions and we’d be more than happy to help.
