Congrats to Palacios

I got an e-mail tonight from UUC saying they won the NASA SouthEast Endurance Challenge Championship. I liked Eric’s quote:

Meh, those guys are OK I guess.

Congrats guys. It was fun racing with you guys for 10 hours this weekend!!

Thanks for the congrats. It was an awesome year and I’m amazed how bullet proof these cars are. We ended up running the same pads and rotors for the 8 hr and both sprints. It was even better to run as a team with dad and can’t wait to run next year.

Congratulations indeed!

Additional congratulations to the team (that would be Eric and Julio) for their points in the overall Southeast Championship.

Read that sentenence carefully. When Pantas reports the final numbers later this week/month and you add them up…Well you woulda/coulda had a different SE champion and the balance of the standings/overall points folks would move down one notch.

We talked about this a bit before the Saturday race. Eric and Julio felt that in fairness to the three other people that were in the running for Toyo dollars and SE points that it was too late to declare “Team Palacio” in the standings. Kinda like it was too late in the season to declare if we would drop 10% of the finishes as allowed in the rule book, but not agreed upon at the beginning of the year by other racers. (This had no effect on the standings, by the way.)

They are a class act.

But for a technicality,“Team Palacio” are your overall SE Champions for the year.

Thanks Robert. It was a fun season and we learned a lot. Look forward to 2011.

All have a great and safe Holiday Season!

Julio, yep, we’re still learning alot…

With the larger field of racers, the rules that govern not only points- like the “drop x% of the races” option- but the tech enforcement and all matters of racing need to be moreso clearly defined. We’ll work to do so next year to make Spec E30 racing the biggest draw in the SE region.

Perhaps the SE will have biggest Spec E30 fields in the nation?

Again, great job. See you next year, if not sooner (the lift is open pending Eric’s graduation).
