Comp licenses. $85 this year. Will probably get added to your purchase when you buy your registration for the event. Might want to check your Medical date on your 2014 license to confirm no surprises first week of Feb.
Annual inspection options.
- $100 if NASA does it.
- If Fred or I do your annual inspection then you help with a Saturday lunch sometime this year. I’ll probably arrive Friday night around 8PM if you want to get your car teched then. Otherwise I should be able to get a couple cars Sat morning. I think Fred is running about the same schedule.
- There are also shops around the SE that can tech your car. I think they tend to charge $50.
Here’s the form you will need for inspection. https://nasa-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/document/document/267/annual_tech_form.pdf Be advised that the inspector needs a different form so you might go fetch that also if you are going to a shop.
Anti-freeze. It is unlikely that we will be allowed to have anti-freeze in our cars, no matter the temp. If you have anti-freeze in your car now, have a plan for swapping it out with something less slippery at the last minute. Depending on the temp, you might want to have a plan for leaving a heatsource under your car Friday and Saturday nights. This is no big deal in the high 20’s, but if it’s in the low 20’s all night long, a light bulb in your engine bay isn’t a crazy idea.
Compliance inspections. Obviously the new rule set is not out yet. NASA hasn’t made a decision on the rule change requests. None of them are any big deal for the SE, so don’t worry about it for CMP. Fred and I haven’t yet talked about what we should check for compliance inspections. Any recommendations? One thing we will check for is anti-freeze.
Fred and I will do something for lunch on Saturday. It will be something as hot as you can stand it.
