I’ll be bringing chow and grilling up lunch on Saturday. Maybe we’ll do a 2nd dinner Sat night too. Plenty of beer, as usual. Since Sandro is coming, I’ll bring an old shirt.

New grill. Not blow-up-in-your-face old grill.

I’ll bring the Cazadores this time Sandro! And plenty of beer!

I now know to bring some ratty tshirts, so lesson learned.

C’mon people, sign up. Moses, I thought you were coming!!

Mark Issa and I are coming up Friday night. We need Al for the camp fire.

It’s looking like we’ll have a party Friday night as well :woohoo:

#4

I’ll be on site Fri early enough to fire up the grill.

#5

Sorry guys, cant make it, too broke…

Al

Will be there but only in an officiating (and maybe go-karting) capacity. I’ve got a July 4 gig to play that will go until at least 1am - so I probably won’t be getting to CMP until noon on Sat. But I’ll be there eventually!

#7

I just signed up so that will make 9 and increase the Toyo Bucks! I will be there Friday afternoon or early eve.

Got a new master cylinder on my car so I really hope that solves my crappy brakes from RA. It was leaking out the back side and the pedal is better now than it was.

CMP is a new track for me so should be good fun trying to learn it Friday. All I have done so far is watch video’s from the last race there trying to learn brake points and such. Any tips from anyone for the track or specific turns?

Use lots of inside curbing on slow turns.

Stay off of the exit curbing of 14 because that curbing is deep enough to break things, to include oil pans.

Figure out how to take the kink at WOT or no more then a tiny quick lift at turn-in. There’s no right answer on “how” to take the kink, different people do it differently.

8 is faster than it looks, but you have to get a lot of turning done early because that’s where the traction is. If you lose it exiting 8, try hard to stay outside instead of hooking across the track and into the inside tire-wall. IMO 8 is the most important turn on the track. Also my worst.

Get the turning done early in 5 because that’s where the traction is. Don’t track out very far at turn 5 exit because there isn’t much traction out there.

The turn-in point for 7 is roughly mid-track, not at track edge.

I will be there Friday afternoon and can give you a few tips FWIW. Mike Skeen will also be there on Friday if you are looking for some coaching. http://www.mikeskeen.com/contact/

Jeff, Paul’s idea is great, but I don’t recall that you have a passenger seat. What you might do is figure out who Mike is coaching and ask them if you can follow them around for a few laps. If you do have a passenger seat, Mike probably costs $100/session these days. Well worth it tho.

Option1: Usually Mike will drive your car solo and get data. Then you drive your car solo and get data. He can then compare and show you areas where you can improve.

Option 2: Mike drives your car and you ride along and watch (provided you have a passenger seat). I have a driver/passenger seat and would be willing to take you out for a session or let Mike drive my car for a few laps and you can have the pleasure of riding with Skeen. Its a circus ride! :woohoo: He helped me drop about 2 seconds off my lap time. My fee is a 6 pack (or 12) of quality IPA. :cheer:

Mike’s daily rate is usually around $1200. He will already be at the track so you might luck out and get a $100 ride along for a few laps.

With all of these great option I think I need more than a day. Lol. I think I will spend some time with Skeen if we can hook up to perhaps let him go at it in my car and then do some data analysis. I also have another great option that should be fantastic so thank you guys for the offers and ideas.

See everyone in the morning! My prep is as far along as it can be but there’s never enough tequila for Sandro and beer and tshirts for everyone else!
