241 was driving thier line. I see no problem with that.
Michael - that maybe correct to the letter of the rules, but there is a day when that situation reverses and somebody pushes you off track and maybe there is not as much run off room in that place.
If there is no run off room, then it is an entirely different move.
I think this dust-up started in Turn 1 on the restart. 241 was covering Tower’s inside line and at the last minute went out to (a) take the best line through T1, (b) cover 800’s strong run on the outside, or © both. It was a decisive move, completely legal, and it worked. 800 tried to rattle 241 going into the kink. 241 moved to take the best line through T11. Has anyone ever made an outside pass work through there when the lead car had close to the ideal entry line & speed? Not an outside defense against an inside pass, but an outside pass?
With as tail happy as Robert’s car was, Travis would have had other chances. Just watch the 2 cars through the caroussel. The 800 was hooked up.
PS - I hope that move is acceptable because I squeezed Johan in exactly the same manner a few laps later.
PPS - I would have not been happy to be on Travis’ end of that move either, but I think there’s a good chance that if the roles were reversed Travis would have closed the door too. I’m just glad Travis has such good car control that he didn’t loop it coming back on track cuz I had Johan breathing down my neck and I didn’t let up at all through T11.
