So, Let me get this straight please, on Sundays race the top 4 started at the back of the group and still all of them made it to the front? That seems odd to me. What happened to the rest of the Spec E30 cars? Everyone sleep late and miss the start?

Now, don’t get me wrong, I know you guys are fast, but…

Robert Patton? Al Taylor? Bill Z? Gasman? and hell, I know Ranger would rather crash someone rather then be passed that much.

Something here seems “unusual” to say the least!

All you guys get a new “JP motor”?

Where was Skeen on Saturday?

#8

DNF - radiator hose and suspected sabotage.

Dude, those SOBs were by the rest of us in like 15seconds. It was the goddamndest thing I’d ever seen. I had a couple cars worth of buffer between me and them so they didn’t catch up to me until turn 4. All 4 made it past me in the carousel. There were E30’s darting thru gaps that would have stopped an appleseed.

I think that we were 12 wide in turn 6. I was in the dirt trying desparately to hold it together.

It was good to meet a couple of you guys this weekend (Travis, Al) - and a lot of fun on the track. I was racing a silver/black/red Miata and had some fun around some E30s. I didn’t hear about the inverted field, but that explains why I didn’t get lapped!

I got to follow Travis for a while Saturday. One lap, coming through the kink, I thought I had a front row seat for a tank slapper. Travis hit the apex bump, the car set into a long, lurid slide, then he tucked the back end in just in time to his his braking point. Helluva show!

I hope to be out there with you guys in an E30 soon. But after hearing Travis and Al’s Saturday night shopping list (malt liquor, fireworks and live chickens), I’m not so sure.

Steve D.

PS - I tried (a little) to find Foushee in the paddock to apologize for my inability to take him up on the point-by during qualifying. It actually turned comical. Coming out of the carousel, he pointed my by - and accelerated away. Then coming out of 8, he offered another point-by and realized he needed to lift if I had any chance to get by. Much appreciated!

When I made the decision to race in the southeast I had no idea that I had to be a comedy writer as well!!!

Jim - great write-ups (I checked out the barber one as well)… very entertaining although I’m sorry it’s typically at your expense!

Team Malt Liquor Tech racing would like to thank Canterbury, Indy Jim, Scott MC, JP and others for the help on Friday when we took our first Enduro class win. We drove the car as hard as we could and between making no mistakes on track and an excellent pit stop we won by almost a lap…

Saturday’s race was for me one of the most intense races I have had, very close racing with Robert Patton, Robert Allen, Brian Jones, Steven Canterbury…I think my finishing position is still up in the air, but most likely a top 5…or 6.

Sunday I had a great race with Scott Mc, but my day ended early with a broken rocker arm, the good news is I still was able to drive it home on 5 cyl’s!

When do I get to intensely watch the racing action that I missed? I know you guys were running cameras. I NEED MY FIX.

I have nothing witty to say. Qualified 8th on Saturday, finished 5th. Had my first metal-to-metal contact ever, which really sucked. :frowning:

I was very apprehensive around traffic on Sunday during qualifying because of my Saturday mishap, so my qualifying sucked (12th). The race was fun, however. I had some intense racing with Scott McM for most of the race. I got by him in 12-13 on the last lap when he missed a shift, but then I made the mistake of trying to go into 2nd gear in 14 instead of my usual 3rd gear, and I ended up drifting sideways through the entire turn because my foot slipped off the clutch pedal and he went past me. He waved his fist in joy as I pounded my steering wheel in frustration.

But it was a great race nonetheless. I haven’t seen the results, but I think I got 8th.
