I didn’t grab a results sheet, but here is what I can remember. (May not be accurate)\

  1. Skeen
  2. JP
  3. Davidson
  4. Wilson
  5. R. Patton
  6. Chuck Taylor
  7. Tom Hall

There were some spins and offs late in the race and I’m not sure where the rest shook out.

Mike Davidson and I had an incredible battle for the entire race coming down to the last turn. Best race I’ve ever had. I’ll try and get the video up by the weekend.

JP, That was some great racing! Tom’s coach and I had a ball watching you and Mike do battle. Of course my brother did well and had a great time of it with the RED BARON, Craig and Tom both drove great races. M3Bill was coming on really hard and I was glad to see the race come to a end, for Tom’s sake!

Great job everyone and a super weekend!

I just want to say that yesterday’s race was one of the most up and down experiences I ever had. At the green flag, the transmission problems I had been experiencing all weekend cropped up again as it popped out of gear. Then, when I got to turn 1, it wouldn’t go into 3rd, so I went from 7th to 15th just like that. However, I drove harder than I have ever driven a car and over the next 25 minutes or so I worked my way all the way back up to the Laura/Geiger/Hall battle for 7th-9th. Laura went off, and then Geiger and I battled for a lap or two, and I eventually got in front of him for 8th. Unfortunately, I misjudged my closing rate on Tom as I was going into the kink and had to lift just as we came out of the kink and the back end came around.

I spun around a few times and stopped in the middle of the track facing the wrong way with a bunch of cars coming my way. That sucked.

On an interesting note, the 400 foot braking marker came through my passenger side window and ended up in the car. I think Lea’s dad is going to fix the dents in the passenger side door next week when he paints the cage.

It was great racing all of you and I look forward to seeing you again at RA.

Wow…I can’t believe I slipped through there.

#9

 Wow. Bad judgement call there. And I thought I had a bad weekend

#10

There were bad weekends had by many… But I’d take a bad weekend at the track over a bad day at the office any day.

This statement doesn’t apply to Skeen. Due to his office and the track being one in the same.

Sunday results:
Michael Skeen
James Coates
Michael Davidson
Travis Wilson
Robert Patton
Charles Taylor
Thomas V Hall
Craig Geiger
Laura Patton
William Zawrotny
Scott McMennamy
Jonathan Stroup
Fred Switzer
Scott Gress

I gotta say CMP is much more fun now with the slow corners removed at the end. I never got up to 100% speed, but the track has a flow to it now in the final segment. Last year when I ran the track it was fun until after the kink, where the slow corners were just annoying and hard on the car. I will be heading back again.

It is better. Is it 3 times this season better? no. I’m not looking forward to the old course or really the drive up there 2 more times.

The new pavement and end section was a definite improvement though.

#13

Are you listening Pantas, no Old CMP layout!

If they would pave the gators out of T14 and do a full repave it would be perfect. I hit those gators a few times and thought the wheel was going to collapse into the car.

#14

I was really looking forward to racing the new course. Come on Jimmy, dump the old course for your old pal Steve.

#15

I just looked on MyLaps and I actually ran a few 1:53’s during the race on Sunday! My best time on Saturday morning was 1:58, I think, so I am happy with the improvement. That is all I am aiming for at this point. Improvement.

carnage, and I just sold my last e30 chassis a month ago. If this keeps up, I am going to buy a few more chassis for parts.

Here is a very roughly edited video of the Sunday sprint race. Mike Davidson and I had an incredible battle for almost the entire race.

It was alot of fun! I tried something new with the peformance friction 01 pads on the front this weekend and they did pretty good in saturdays race but in the 40 min race on sunday they just couldn’t handle the heat. (My one excuse! :stuck_out_tongue: ) I will be running HT10’s up front for the rest of the season. Stick to what works right? JP you did an awesome job and I had a blast! You have gained my respect because we raced very very close and never touched. What is it with losing first place on saturday on the last lap and 2nd place on sunday on the last lap? :woohoo: I will post my video when I finish my thermodynamics homework.
