CMP lodging recommendations and camping facilities

My first time driving at CMP, so any info would be appreciated…
If my Dad tags along he’ll probably want a firm roof over us… if he doesn’t come, I’m leaning towards camping.

If drinking and merriment interest you, camp at the track with us.

The Executive Inn (AKA the Executioner) is in Kershaw. Close and cheap. Place is a little threadbare tho.

The Colony Inn is in Camden. Nicer, but more expensive and 25min away.

The Colony Inn is $39.00/night last time I stayed there; I’d hate to experience “cheaper”. They have an incredible breakfast buffet. Worth it!

I would rather sleep in my tent where I KNOW nothing has been washed since the last time I slept there rather than stay at the Executioner and WONDER if anything had been washed…

However, if your purpose for bringing dad along is to try the “I really love this stuff but need a little help in the funding department” approach, the Executioner will make that point better than any verbal means.

We are heeding the advice of many. Sheets, pillows, blankets and Towels in tow.

You may want to add the following to that list: a can of Lysol, a large sheet of plastic and make sure that your immunizations against tetanus, diptheria, measles, mumps, typhoid, and rubella are still effective :S

You forgot Dengue, Yellow Fever, Rabies, & Meningococcal vaccinations. Think the Executive Inn as a visit a third world country in sub-Saharan Africa or tropical South America.

Actually the Executive Inn isn’t all that bad and it is close to the track. Personally I prefer the Colony Inn in Camden even though it is further from the track and more costly. That is a small price to pay to be further from Al, his livestock, and the other crazies overnight.

The antics of Al, et. al. is half the fun of SpecE30. Unless, of course, you want to sit in a dark room and drink alone.

Well, if Dad decides not to come, my brother (who is finally bringing his 240Z to the track) and I will probably be camping. With Dad, sounds like we’ll be drinking beer somewhere in Camden.
