Rob, we’re giong to have to come up with an enduro where to Spec e30 audience has-to-attend. Which event do you and Jim think would be the best?

Mix it in with Chuck Taylor’s idea of a SE/MA challenge in July(VIR) and August(RA) ?

What do you guys think?

Regards, Robert Patton

#3

Not a bad idea Robert. We should talk more about this at CMP and see what we can come up with. Are you running the enduro’s this year at all?

#4

Unless there is a large field of racers, the idea of driving around for three hours and using up gas, tires and brakes does not hold the same appeal as it did when I first started racing. Call me a competition snob, but unless there is a field of at least 10 cars it just isn’t fun.

However, it was lots easier to win a race back in the days of a field of one racer.

Regards, Robert Patton

#5

I fully agree. I hope that E2 will be a 10-15 car field in a few months. In the mean time i’m going to pull a Patton and play around in a sparse field so I can learn all the tricks before my competition. :woohoo:

Rob, no tricks to be learned doing enduros…IFUs, now you can learn some tricks there.

Tricks for 2008? Get Hollywood/Superstar Skeen.

Don’t worry. I have great ABS on the new car. “Anyone But Skeen”

Rob - need to make a change to the driver line up. We had 3, but gained another so Craig entered on his own, so we’re 2 and 2 now.

Should I email you or Julie? You can get me at jhrobinson @ bellsouth.net

Thanks
Jim

Ouch. You might regret that. I’ll understand if you don’t want someone going faster than you in your own car.

All changes need to go to Julie. The fee is different for 2,3 and 4 driver cars and right now, everyone is setup as a 2 driver car. If that isn’t correct, please let Julie know.

This is what’s so great about the SE group! I don’t think there’s any topic that is immune to a smacktalk-fest.

#12

Skeen - be careful. The MLT car has as much in common with your Speed TV and Daytona rides as a lawn mower. Hopefully hollywood didn’t make you soft.

Dang Indy Jen…you sure are tough on a car that administers an ass-whoopin’ on you every race. Just for that, I’m gonna clean the spark plugs, beat out the air filter, and put on a set of new (well used and rusty) rotors! Got any used rear pads? Mine are down to the metal, and I don’t know if they will make it through the enduro before the caliper piston hits the rotor.

#14

Just like the snarling possum, the MLT car exudes that “stay away from me” vibe on track. My car just gets scared.

#15

Did someone say lawn mower?

14 cars in the enduro, 8 in E2. Bigger than most SE30 fields for the first two years. It’s looking like it’s going to be a fun event fellas!

#17

Are there going to be any warmup or recon laps for co drivers? I don’t see anything listed specifically on the schedule?

#18

No laps for anyone unless you’re signed up for comp school or Turn 1. You might be able to get a ride with someone during the day though. Honestly, I will be driving 9/10ths at the most this event because it is unlikely you’ll make it through at full bore. There will be plenty of time to learn the ropes as you do the enduro.

BTW we had one car drop out of E2 (Jim’s E36 has some torn bushings) but two more have signed up. That brings us to 9 in E2 for tomorrow. Get excited people because it’s not going to be an easy event for anyone. We’re going to have to EARN those positions.

Nobody is going to say my flat black and red looks like beertech flat black and red anymore. B)
