Hi Chuck,
what is the benefit of this - I know how a lightweight flywheel can help but haven’t heard of this specifically before.
thanks,
bruce

Wouldn’t the wording "unmodified flywheel" in the rules eliminate this as a possibilit?

#4

By using an aluminum pressure plate with a lightweight clutch disc, the entire rotating mass weighs less. Effectively letting it rev faster and possibly higher with much less effort. A way around shaving/drilling the flywheel.
Let the games begin…$$$$$

As I understand the rules, you must run an unmodified stock flywheel while the clutch and pressure plate are free as long as they are stock size. Because the pressure plate is rotating mass, anything you can do to lighten it will improve acceleration. Chuck

And the most important thing I forgot was price…320$ plus or minus 10$…we will know after it is drawn in cad. Chuck

The clutch is directly connected to the flywheel. Removing weight from it is just like removing it from the flywheel.
