Chuck, need help please with brake cooling plates.

Alright, I’m off my lazy butt and putting on the cooling backing plates. I thought the dust shields were going to be the tough part, but after removing the rotor, it took about 2 minutes with a pair of snips to get them off.

Anyway, there is no marking on the plates for left and right. The bolt holes line up either way. Which is left and which is right? Or does it matter?

Here’s a picture of the plate installed. This is the right side, obviously.

You want the hose opening to be towards the center of the car, and the orientation such that the 3" coupler is a few inches above the tie rod retaining bolt.

See if this doesn’t clear it up for you.

Ok, that cleared it up. The narrower part of the plate goes at the top and the wider part goes at the bottom.

Thanks.
