Chow at events.

#1

At Watkins Glen the Graces brought a gas grill and a charcoal grill. They brought a bunch of chow and the NE region apparently donated some chow in lieu of a Saturday night party. The whole thing really worked well. The chow created a social center for SpecE30. I think we should do something similar. I’ll go get a gas grill and plan to bring things to grill up for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I’ll certainly bring more than I can eat, but if this catches on, more people are going to need to bring chow.

Yup, and that pig was wonderful! Last couple of events, we’ve done a SpecE30 (and other Bimmers) party Saturday night, tons food on grills, beer, etc. Last weekend the guys at MAD did a pig roast track side! Great party!!!

The quality of some events is measured by the food, the DEC BMW CCA/VDCA at RRR has an oyster and pig roast, one time at VIR Gold Cup we had all you can eat steak and lobster…that is all anyone remembers about that event. The Pittsburgh BMW races had catered breakfast for 3 days.

If I remember correctly Beertech used to grill a lot of food…Malt Liquor Tech brought the Jager…

I would love to do a Taco night Friday at CMP in Nov. I will throw in $30 for supplies and bring a Pinata’ if we could feed everyone that makes it in Friday it would be a great PR deal for Spec e30.

I’m certainly in for anything festive, but Friday night is tough unless we do it pretty late like 8PM. Why tacos, I’m buying this dang grill. Might as well use it.

Andrew just posted on FB that there’s going to be lunch at his camp on Saturday

I just picked up a gas grill to bring to events. I’ll bring it to VIR and maybe it can assist the drive-gear effort.

Grilled steak and chicken tacos with some tortillas warmed on a grill sounds down right tasty.
