Challenge to NASA SE Racers - Free Race Weekend

#1

This deal is really easy. If 5+ NASA-SE paid entry racers show up with NASA at Sebring on October 2-3, if one of the NASA-SE crowd can beat me, you get your entry fee paid for. This pays for first place only, so one of you, if you get it done, will get a free race weekend. NASA-Fl is putting up the money for this. They are betting that the NASA-SE crowd is sufficiently soft that they won’t have to pay out. I agree.

If 10+ NASA-SE guys come, I’ll put up another free entry out of my own pocket if two of you can beat me, so that will pay two places.

Come down and show a little love to NASA-Florida. The weather is great this time of year, the track is fun, and we will have a really good time.

This is absolute gold. I love it.

You’d probably have a better turnout if you made it a drinking competition instead, and provided the beer.

Al would show up for that for sure.

#4

If Jones signs up, I am in. He’ll take Soze out in turn 1 and I will cruise to an easy victory.

PS - I really would love to visit Sebring some time. I just can’t swing it for October.:frowning:

#5

I also agree to provide a case of craft beer for anyone that beats me (unlimited) and will provide middle of the road beer to everyone else that shows up, regardless of finishing order. Come play in my playground!

#6

Its hard to take me out in Turn 1 at Sebring. That turn is long and wide. We’ve been 5 wide through there.

Dude, you know how to promote a weekend…I will be in FLA at the GRM challenge in Gainesville…then over to Cedar Key for some Kayaking…

Yall have fun.

Man I love this. I seriously hope we can get some more E30s down there. I am really looking forward to that weekend.

You assume you’re going to be second…

Al K is already on the list… that leaves four to go.

If I were not getting married on Oct. 2nd I would make the trip. Something tells me that the future other half would want me at the wedding.

#13

It’s so far away… why don’t you just come to CMP in November and I’ll let you pay for my entry when I beat you? That would be a lot more convenient.

then it’s not too late. You still have a shot at freedom

Oh and I’d come too, but the 3rd is my 12 yr. anniversary… and then there’s the fact that I told my “better” half that I’d take the year off.

Looking forward to seeing you all at CMP (November 5-7 for the IFU4 and Sprints). Which, for what it’s worth, will be roughly 364 days from my last race. Shhhh… she’s not counting the days as closely as I am.

Why not have the wedding at Sebring! There is 20 minutes between qaulifying and the race. Heck, McCay has already said he’ll bring the beer. My buddy has a Bar-B-Que smoker that he pulls with his 4 wheel drive with the rebel flag rear window. We’ll find us a Possum to smoke. I’ll talk Natalie and John into bringing some fried pork skins and I’ll supply the Coppenhagen dip. We’ll have us a good ole red neck time.

That’ll impress your bride.

Seriously - Congratulations on your marriage.

Exactly! Y’all are from Alabama, right? So you and your fiancee are probably related anyway.

What’s better than a destination wedding/family reunion/race weekend? You gotta train them early in the marriage or you will end up like McMennananannanmy!

I would like to go on record as discouraging everyone from doing this sort of thing. I understand that there can be times in marriage that are fairly desparate and you’ll say anything. To get laid.

You must be strong.

Back on track to Nasa Fl / McCay’s offer…

I may have just found a use for my 24 years of experience at Sebring. Announcing the formation of “Don’s Spec E30 Driver Coaching School”. SE drivers welcome. Gratuties and bribes accepted.

Modern technology has a solution for this, tele-conferencing. All you need is an internet connection and a web cam. A laptop carried by the ring bearer can substitute for your physical presence.

No, Natalie, I assume I’m going to be first. The gem of this entire promotion is it doesn’t cost NASA-Fl or me anything, as I’ll win Saturday easily.
