Carbotech brake pads

#1

Im going to start stocking Carbotech pads and rotors for E30s which we will have at the track. I should have them for VIR this weekend. We already carry them for Miatas so I see no reason not to stock some BMW pads also as there has been a significant increase in entries.

See you at VIR.

Actually as a follow up question:

Is anyone currentlly using Carbotech’s on a Spec E30? and if so what compounds are you using. I want to make sure I have something useful on the truck.

I am Alex. Cobetto was but I heard that he thought the people with Hawk’s were outbraking him. Since my car didn’t really run at VIR, I didn’t have a chance to test that theory. I can’t get to my home computer for the email to see which compounds that I am running. Will probably be set for this season as the CarboTech guys were nice enough to allow me to use my 944 rewards for the pads. I still have another $50 off and a whole stack of 20% discount coupons. These pads are smaller than the 944 so maybe they won’t last as long.

I have used Carbotech pads on my E30. I have run XP10 front and XP9 rear as well as XP12 front with XP10 rear. I liked them but to be honest I havent felt a huge difference between them and the HT-10’s and for my limited budget, the HT-10s are my current choice.

For reference,I have brake cooling ducts and backing plates on my car and have had the same setup with all different compunds Ive tried.

thanks for the info guys!

Also Eric check back with me this weekend as I may be able to redeem the coupons for you, if you need pads at the track.

I am also working with Carbotech to put a Spec E30 contingency program together. Please feel free to give me ideas on what kind of program will work for you guys and we will work with Carter to get it done this weekend.
