Car decals

It is time to get numbers and such. So a few questions.

  1. SE30 regs says 8" side numbers and CCR says 10". Which is the required size?

  2. 5" tall on hood and rear. Where do you put it on the rear that 5" will fit well?

  3. Is the class still SO? With SU gone is it now just SE30 or what?

Thanks,

Michael O.

Go with 10" numbers to be safe. You can put the rear numbers on the rear window and you dont need to designate SO on the car for the class.

revolution decal can make anything you want so it matches. Thats who we (Beer Tech) used and they did a fantastic job.

Hope this helps.

if I was the tech steward, I would rather see nothing blocking the rear window, and numbers sized to fit on the vertical part of the trunk lid … I suppose in the upper corner of the rear window wouldn’t be bad.

I wonder if a good vinyl place could perforate the numbers so that you can see through them if placed on that rear window. I am pretty sure that is how they deal with the vinyl on the cars/trucks you see with the full wrap vinyl on them.

there is also the issue of a following car seeing your hand signals

If no SO then how does anyone know we are Spec E30?

We have our numbers mounted on the lower left of the rear window. Its really a non issue as its directly behind the driver and the numbes are small. Hand signals will be seen in the middle of the rear window.

Most of the MA Spec E30 crowd are running the Spec E30 window banner on the rear window across the top (also a non issue as far as visibility is concerned)so no need for the SO. But Im sure you can put it on there if you like.

10" numbers on side, 5" front and rear on hood and trunk lid.
SO before the number, R to designate rookie after the number, and the rear. Orange square 6x8 in place of the license plate.
My sponsor on top of rear window.
Spec E30 windshield decal in front, when it arrives.
NASA and TOYO decals on each side and front/rear.

For what it’s worth…

We have no vision problems with this set up.

Some of us are putting 5" numbers to the left of where the license plate would be mounted. There is a flat spot to the left and right of the license plate area. IMO, deck lid numbers are hard to see.

Once I get the car one color-
(the top one is an eagle, globe and anchor)
The ‘Marines’ is 50" long and 8" tall for the quarter panels.
I probably paid too much. The Iwo jima decals were $37 a piece. The two tone Marines…
That Beertech car looks great!

Of course, the GRM number plates are too small for 10" numbers.

My car won’t get its cage until mid- late summer. I am just starting my training. Hyperfest this weekend and HPDE next month.
I’ll start a thread with updates on my car after this weekend.
