Cage or rollbar

#1

If anyone knows of a used rollbar or cage please let me know. I’m getting very close to having my car ready for next year. Thank you.

Really, a weld-in custom cage is the way to go – and it’s not that much more expensive than a bolt-in + custom A-pillars.

Altogether, my custom cage is going to run ~$1,050 when finished (~$700 for the custom rear roll/harness bar) and it fits my car perfectly… Most bolt/weld-in pre-fabs are a designed with an intact interior in mind and may not adequately fit the inherent dimensional variations between build-dates and individual cars.

I second that.

Where are you located? Someone will know of a good builder there and you can get it done right.

A bolt in is really a starter kit for a cage.

I third that
I was on the fence to either use bolt in cage or have a custom welded cage, and decided to have a weld in cage. Although I can weld, I decided to take the project to a professional (and reputable) cage building shop.

They should start putting the cage in on Oct 7th !!!

It’s great to hear that you guys are moving forward with your cars.

Keep us up to date on your progress…especially during the off season.

And if anyone within a couple hour’s drive of Raleigh NC is building a Spec E30 car and needs some help, I’ll be glad to spend a weekend day helping.

I’m designing a cage right now. And will probably be anylizing it with pro mechanica. Should be pretty sweet. If someone is interested we could probably do something for somebody here in our shop. We’d have to schedule you in carefully because we are starting soon on our E90’s for next season and still have to finish the Turbo car.

Were are in Radford Va.
