Bumper Repair

#1

I have a very used lower valance - i think i have heard it called the “cowcatcher” style. Anyway it’s beat up pretty bad, figured i would use some old sheet ABS and some ABS pipe glue to reinforce it from behind and maybe add some pop rivets. Any other ideas on what type of adhesives can be used on ABS? How have you all repaired the ABS bumpers? They are so hard to find i figured that since I found one for $45 i better learn to live with it.

I have one I paid $50 for that sounds about the same. It has a few tears in it I need to fix. These are actually made from a urethane, I’m pretty sure. I would run it by your local body shop and ask them what it’s made of. You can buy repair kits of the same material to repair cracks and fill crevices. Epoxy will also work if it’s in an area less prone to flexing. Mine is shelved as a “someday I’ll work on that” project so I can’t give you more specifics.
