So i just finished the water pump and timing belt, then popped off the valve cover to adjust valves, and found a head bolt with the bolt head popped off. there was enough of the bolt showing i backed it out with my fingers. So my queation is…Am i safe to replace that bolt, and just torque check the others? looking for advice on how to handle this…i would prefer not to pull the head if i dont need to.

Is the car fitted with Torx style head bolts or traditional hexagonal style? A new head bolt set is only $20 or so; I’d just replace them all for good measure.
