I for one can’t wait to get a set:
Breaking News from Mid-Ohio!
I’m glad to see that everyone’s hopes for a non-shaved tire has come. I’m also glad that the brandy new full-depth RA-1s in my living room are still the spec rain tires.
Looks like Phil is on top of this, and I expect he’ll put up a similar offer on this board soon:

Likely the racers at Mid Ohio are too busy to correspond and big corporate announcements aren’t controlled from the peanut gallery.
Looks like we’ll have a new tire next year. Time to use up the old rubber and lobby for a long transitional period to do such.

Gents - We are rumored to be getting some in tommorrow (9/6). I’ll take some pics and post them when they hit. Our web boys already have the specs and F & B up though.
The folks at Toyo tell me they spent a great deal of time with Nasa folks getting the the RR tailored to our needs. Time will tell…
Since my RA-1’s have been sitting in moth balls for almost two years, I’ll probably run a set at RA in December (assumes I get off my rearend and get the rear subframe and RTA’s swapped out by then).
Here’s a link
Will these tires be legal for comp THIS year by chance?
So happy not to have to deal with shaving anymore. It’s a pain in the tuckus out here!

Phil, will you price match like they do?

Already beat them - standard price is $5 per tire cheaper
While this announcement was a surprise to me and another Series Director picked by NASA to use this tire, it looks like a good tire for Spec E30.
The exact details of the transition, etc, are yet to be announced by NASA, but the RA-1 will still be used as our rain tire.
I’ll be testing a set of RR’s at VIR in October.

This is great news, except that I need new tires for one more race this year, which I guess means buying RA1’s and then not using them next spring. Small price to pay!
Carter,
Looking forward to your assessment in October. I noticed the max pressure of the new tire is higher than the RA1. It will be interesting to see what the ideal pressure is for the new tire with our cars.

I have a bunch of 09 and older RA1’s that I am willing to part with. All have enough life left for 1 weekend easy. Probably could get 2. 1 set just won Nationals and demolished the old track record.
Shoot me an email if you’re interested.
