Brake light issues

#1

I’m having a problem with my brake lights and I hope you guys can help. My cage builder for some stupid reason cut all the wires that go through the rear bulkhead in order to mount the cage the way I requested. Well I went back in and spliced everything back together except for re -hooking up the third brake light, but now the brake lights stay on constantly. Any one have any ideas. Any electrical gurus?

I am no Guru but brake lights are a switched circuit so start at the switch…if you press the pedal, do they go off? I don’t have the Bentley available but there is a schematic for that circuit in there that I used to figure out why they wouldn’t go on one time…

I’d ask your cage builder to fix it. Seems only fair since he was the one that cut the wires in the first place.

All fixed. The plunger on the switch was being touched by the brake pedal lever but not enough. This car started as auto so when we changed the pedal box we didn’t check to make sure it was adjusted enough.
