Brake Ducting Routing

#1

Just wondering how people are running the ducting/hose for the brakes to try and avoid the tire rubbing it as it approaches full lock. Run it towards the center of the car under the under tray? Through the little vertical section of the under tray that is in the wheel well? Or just deal with the rubbing and try not to turn the wheel all the way?
Thanks,
Sean

I routed mine towards the center like you described.

I don’t go to full lock. On the track, it’s fine and around the paddock I just make another "point" when pulling out.

I went through the plastic undertray:

Kelly,
what did you do to connect the ducting to the stock air scoops?
thanks,

Bruce,

Zip ties and duct tape. However, Chuck at Factory 3 Performance has fabricated and is either selling or about to sell a square to round adapter that attaches to the OEM ducts and 3" hose.

I am in the process of getting some GruvenParts backing plates and would like to know what length of hose people have needed?
3ft per side?
5ft per side?

any help would be appreciated.

I can’t remember exactly how much I needed but it is more than 3 feet and less than 5 feet per side.

Check out OG Racing for the best price I’ve found on 3" duct. Its not the expensive double walled silicone hose but we don’t need that stuff on our cars anyway.

great thanks for the link, they are a lot cheaper than any other quotes i have had.

Do you know if the hose from og racing lasts as long as the more expensive silicon alternative?

I guarantee you it won’t last as long. But at half the price I feel confident that it will last more than half as long as the expensive stuff. I’ve had mine for 6 track weekends and it is still good as new.

The advantages to the expensive hose is that it will withstand higher temperatures (not and issue for us) and the inside wall is smoother which improves the air flow through the hose, marginally.

I run my hose to and under the frame rail and then turn it out 90 degrees to the rotor. I have little line clamps attached to the little studs on the frame where the fender liner would be attached and just zip tie my duct hose to that to hold it in place. Works just fine and I have never had a problem.
