BMWCCA Oktoberfest at Barber, 14-16Oct

Boys and girls the discounted registration fee ends Thur. It’s a lot of track time for the dollar, there’s sure to be at least 7 of us there and we’re going to have a great time.

Your NASA comp license will get you a CR ticket, you just have to get started on the paperwork early enough so the process has time to work.

The decal requirements are much reduced from years past. All you need is a Tire Rack Banner, Club Racing decal, BW decal and a decal from VAC. You’ll get those with your license packet.

Kish is coming down from Jersey. Don’t let him shame everyone S of him for not having the moxie to make the trip.

Don’t start posting a bunch of whining with your lips all a quiver. Reach down your shorts, adjust your gear and make it happen.

When did Ranger get so tough?

#3

You should have seen what kind of pussy I was in HS.

In HS I tried my hand at wrestling. Unsurprisingly, I was awful. I was in the 106 lbs class. I could have easily wrestled in the 99 lb class, except for one thing. The guy that was already in the 99 lb class, ah, scared me.

Bullies smell weakness. That baggage charted my life, for good, ill or maudlin.

#4

yeah, don’t let me spank ranger and levie right in your backyard guys
woot! where’s fish?
I’ll be there if work allows, but I don’t know my schedule yet.

#13

cool fish. hope you can make it. i think we have 7 cars signed up now. would be awesome to get 10.

#14

I am hoping to make it, but probably wont know if it is possible for a month or three… having just received my nasa license and never raced with the BMWCCA, how much lead time do you I need to get all the licensing crap and other paperwork in order?

#15

You have your comp, not a rookie license, correct? The NASA Rookie license won’t get you a BMWCCA CR license.

You’d want to give it about a month. Be clear to the the BMWCCA CR Licensing lady that you’re hoping to do a specific race and they’ll get it done in time or make sure that the event director understands that you are a “go” for “Provisional” in his weekend of racing. Ultimately the event’s race director makes the call who can and cannot race. So as long as National talks to him about you, there’s flexibility in the system.

#16

Yeah, I have the NASA comp license (no longer rookie/provisional status), and it is good to know they can process this in about a month. I think I will know if this is possible for me by early September… I am guessing that in addition to getting the license for driving, I have to also get the car teched by BMWCCA; is that another shop inspection and logbook?
Thanks for all the good info

#17

Running as a Spec E30 your NASA logbook will be accepted. The car will checked at the track for safety equipment and the like.

#18

I’m Signed up.

#19

@gilles, call national and speak to trisha williams and explain you want to race at O’fest. I am sure they will work it out.
