BMWCCA Club Race School Apr 1-3

#1

Just throwing this out there… There will be FIVE SpecE30’s (including mine) in the Club Race School. THREE of them will be joining the region this season, likely due to my constant banter about how everyone should be racing SpecE30 (especially in the Great Lakes region!)

Who else is building a car for this year? This is a great 3-day event to shake off the cobwebs and work on racing skills. Many high-profile instructors (ahem-ahem) will be present to provide feedback from the on-track exercises. There is also the NASA comp school the following Friday (before the first race), but 3 days >> 1 day

I thought I did all the bantering, Anthony.

I should be at both the BMW event and NASA the next weekend. Can’t wait.

#5

Who are the 5 drivers? Aside from Denny

#6

Donald Cepek , will be racing this year.
Jamie Rush, will be racing this year.
Dave Nally, probably not racing this year.
Denny, rating this year.
Me.

Wow, we are going to have some good fields this year. Add John Ackerman (he is from Kentucky), he just bought a car from the southeast. I raced with him in the BMW Club back in the day, good guy and another good driver. Needs to swap motors and get his comp license.

#8

I should see him this weekend. I’ll get him to the school

#9

Sounding awesome guys! Can’t wait!

#10

Looks like we could have as many as SEVEN SpecE30s at this event now!

#11

wow… is this a bmw cca or nasa comp school? anyone from SE coming up? Ranger, tower?

#12

BMWCCA School. However, passing it will get you your NASA provisional. At least in the Great Lakes Region.

The internet needs a “sarcastic” font. Or at least an emoticon!

I’m offended. I saw Anthony last weekend and I didn’t get badgered at all to come to this. Hope my reputation for wrecking Spec e30s doesn’t factor… :frowning:

You’re already licensed, retard. (there’s your badgering!)
…unless that roll wasn’t a stroke of bad luck and you want to register as a student?

I’m not sure they cover rolling cars at a comp school, you might try a movie stunt school, should be right up your alley

Jamie Roush here…present and accounted for.

This should be an exciting month…The car should be fine for the school but I am not positive that it will be ready for the NASA race the week after. I have to go back to Sweden from Mar 21-31 so I only have the next few weeks to get it ready. I am trying to get the E36 out of my garage so I can start working on the E30.

Either way, nothing like having your first time driving the car as a shakedown run at Mid-O…

I’m going to be getting in the mix at some point during the season. Car is having the cage put in right now, and I still have a ton of work to do. I don’t know how long it will take for the cage to be completed.

Also, I’m trying to figure out what to do with getting re-licensed. I quit racing wheel to wheel back in 2007. Not sure how it will work with NASA getting a new license. Not sure if my instructors license is still good.

If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears. Can I just submit for a renewal? I’d rather not go back through all the school stuff.

Jeremy?
