Bilstein Reseal Servicing Companies

#1

I just got off the phone with Bilstein Motorsport NA in Poway CA +1-800-537-1085 and spoke to Juan… He said that the dampers are $75 each to “reseal” (same cost for front and back) and they would do them but they are looking at a 12 week backlog not including the shipping time required… They have another office in Mooresville NC and they can also reseal the dampers for us.

I have heard that Weekend-Racer.com in Vegas and MidnightOil http://www.midnightoilmotors.com/ in San Diego will service Bilstein shocks for us and they have a current interest in SpecE30… Also in the Midwest it seems that Speedway Motors http://www.speedwaymotors.com/ (402) 323-3145 can reseal dampers, but might have a hard time with our long body and rod design…

But, do we have an approved list of providers we all use for this service? Mine are literally on their last legs and I need to look into this for the off season. I am looking at more in shipping than the rebuild cost at the moment for Chicago.

I posted some info about this a couple yrs back, but your post has more info than mine. The only thing I can add off the top of my head is that I called Speedway a couple yrs ago and they said that they can redo common circle track Bilsteins, but not ours. Maybe that’s changed.

Is this a rebuild?

OK, well if I am the current SME on this, I’ll get some more information…

Yes - Kyle - Bilstein calls the rebuild process - “Reseal” - learning a lot from this research

apparently the keys are to be a registered Bilstein (apparently pronounced Bill-styne) motorsports dealer and to have the refilling equipment.

I’ll update this thread as I learn more.

OK,

After a lot of phone calls I have come to the conclusion that you’re best bet it to find a local Bilstein “Resealer”/Servicer or buy new ones.

Speedway cannot handle our OEM size dampers. confirmed FYI

Looks like you save about $55/each on a front rebuild and only $25/each per rear.

That’s decent money - but the backlog makes it an off season only project.
