Getting our SE30 ready for Putnam Park and recently noticed a random bundle of wires no longer attached to anything. It’s a three wire loom with one blue, one grey with red stripe, and one brown with white stripe. It come off the same bundle as the power windows. After rummaging through the Bentley manual we weren’t able to locate this combination on any of the wiring diagrams. We haven’t put a multimeter to it yet. Looks like the previous owner cut the grey/red and brown/white wires, but left the blue one exposed. Anyone have thoughts?
Beware of the blue wire
My thought is that if it ain’t connected to anything, making it shorter won’t hurt it’s performance.
Cut every loose wire you see. When you regret it, stop.

That’s the current plan.
It may indeed be for the ash tray light or a part of the cigarette lighter wiring. I’ll take a closer look at this this evening.
Thanks for the posts!
Could be the wire to the parking brake that makes the light on the dash go on.

I think we have a winner!!!
Yeah - I am pretty sure that is what it is.
I confirmed it wasn’t the cigarette lighter or ash tray illumination. However, Jeremy posted about this in the Interior forum (novel idea).
Here’s that post: http://spece30.com/component/option,com_kunena/Itemid,86/func,view/catid,9/id,25112/#25112
Our car was an automatic. So we’re thinking it connected to the auto’s shift assembly for lighting and/or maybe a lockout switch. Either way, I’m confident it’s safe to tape off and tuck away. Thanks for the posts guys!
The wiring for the auto shifter all terminates in a connector further forward. That wire looks like it is for the e-brake switch.
