Best vendor for wheel studs?

#1

Just looking for any experiences yall’ve had (yes, yall’ve is a word) with obtaining wheel studs for our cars. Which ones to use, who to get them from, etc.

Mine are getting old so I want to change them.

TIA!

I have tried studs from numerous vendors and the RRT studs have been the best by far.

I have the bullet nose studs from Bimmer World and they seem to work fine. The only thing is that the hex head is very easily stripped out if you are not carefull. If this does happen you can just double nut the stud and tighten them down.

Turner also sells the bullet nose studs that look a lot like RRT and BW.

Ken, the RRT guys advised me to simply install them hand tight with Red locktite. They said I could hold the rotor by hand and tighten with the other. There wasn’t a whole lot of force required.

The reason I had an issue stripping the hex head was because I replaced one of my rear hubs with a salvage one that had some rust in the threads. I should have used a thread chaser to clean it out but I didn’t. It took quite a bit of effort to get a couple of the studs down to the saddle.

I recommend Bimmerworld or RRT (same design).
