Belt harness quest

#1

I am currently looking into buying belts – either 6 or 7 points harness. What does everyone prefers – pull-up or ‘pull down’ belt type configuration ( I am considering Schroth Hybrid III if that makes a difference to anyone)

Thanks,
Igor

I have a Schroth 6pt with 2" shoulder straps for HANS. If I recall, some of the Schroth belts can be easily redone by you to be either pull-up or pull-down. I like the pull-up configuration. I used to run the Schroth 4-pt back when the car was doing street duty, but I hated their pull-down configuration.

Igor:

I have the pull-down type sholder belts (they may all be pull-down) and the pull-up lap belts. I’ve had the pull-down lap belts and it was tough to pull down between the seat and the center tunnel on the right, or between the seat and cage on the left. I much prefer the pull-up lap belts.

Thanks guys. I did mean pull-up or pull-down config on lap belts, but my post wasn’t clear :S . I am looking into these belts, so if anyone has any opinions please let me know

Pull-up belts are generally preferred in the kind of application you need. Pull-down belts are able to be pulled more snugly, but require outside help to tighten the belts and as Carter said, the transmission tunnel gets in the way.

The Enduro Miata I crew on has pull down lap belts and it is a PITA to do driver changes since I also have to do the belt on the right side when I hook up the radio for the driver…Wirh pull up , the driver can do it
