Battle for the Championship heats up!

#1

Looks like the final weekend at Infineon will be exciting with 5 drivers all in the hunt for the Championship. I personally plan to watch the whole thing unfold up-close and personal… in my rear view mirror!

Drama, drama, drama. Who needs reality TV… we will have it right here at Sonoma. Hopefully we will have the biggest field of the year. Those battling for the title will have to work hard to qualify at the front and run strong right to the end. Does it rain up there in november?

I want to say thanks to everyone for making Austin and I feel welcome, and hope to run with all of you next year. You have a real special group of guys(and Gal)!

So… who is your money on?

Dammit Adam…take your chicken bones and sticks and whatever else you use in your rain dance and shove them where the sun doesn’t shine! I’m trying to finish out the season on the tires I have left and can’t afford a new set of full treads just now!!!

In all seriousness…I hope you can make it to the season ender…we’ve missed you most of the year and it will be great to see you again!

Cheers,
Scott

So after the race I did a leakdown test on my engine. #3 hole had 35% leakdown. the rest were not to good either. Is this bad? I think I know what to do, but will I have enough time. Hmmm

Just hit him hard inside of a turn and knock him off the course for the position, that might work. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ouch! Not even directed at me and it hurt.

I just hope you are all there with your boots on so I can watch it play out. Should be very exciting with some fast guys mixed in there who are not in championship contention, yet will be fighting for wins. I will not be giving point bys this time…B)

May be starting from the back of course!

Brad a weak motor is a BIG advantage in the rain…I have heard. I heard Scoot disconnects 2 sparkplugs in the rain and Bennet cuts holes in his floor so he can feel the spray. Following you around with your car bouncing side to side was a good deterrent for anyone trying to pass. Your rear hooked up really well in right handers though…I wouldn’t touch your rear alignment, -8 degrees is perfect!

Boys I hope your both fixed up and ready to duke it out on the track! Lets have a clean fight, no shots below the belt line, now start from your corner!

Scoot,

We have any confirms of drivers for this coming weekend Nov 7-8? I assume the top 5 Championship contenders will be there for sure. I hope a full contingency of everyone else as well. Steve F is out, something about, husbandly duties…

I plan to run, and will supersize to GTS2 as well. Need all the time I can get at your home track’ trying to fiqure that place out, nevers gives me a breather. Seems like the wheel is always turned one way or another. Looks like I may be learning it in the rain again.

Nichols Wealth Management has a bottle of wine for whoever finishes behind car #55 on Saturday, and a bottle of the best Pear Cognac in the world, for the SpecE30 Champion on Sunday!!!

Hi Kevin,

I haven’t yet seen the “official” sign up list but I think it is safe to assume the top five contenders will be there. I know Bennett can’t make it and Steve Ferrario will not either. Let’s start a “roll call”:

Planning on Racing:

Donny E.
Brad M.
Scott C.
Scott N.
Greg P.
Kevin N.
Adam L.
Mike S.
Ryan G.
Richard S.

Maybes??
Team 101
Kevin C.
Will F.
Jon E.
Carl C.
Tony Z.
Sean T.
Walter F.

I’ll also send out an email on a roll call too.

Cheers,
Scott

We’ll be there dicing it up too! I’m hoping there’s no rain though

#14

A little late responce to Carls cheep shot, but all I can say is sorry for hitting your front right fender with my left door/ rear qtr panel while you were out of control!

#15

I will be there for sure.
A little rain would make things very interesting and alot of fun!!!
Torential rain would suck though.

Well on this now more serious conversation, that’s subject to individual interpretation for sure; as that was not the situation inside the cockpit of my car and what I saw in my rearview mirror as I was back underpower and in control. But you gave the Miata quite a show with that attempt at a hail mary double pass on both of us, almost. I guess you are saying I owned your pass from what you are saying there.

But that’s racing.

Still got to fix the damage to the side of my car and suspension…

I’m still hoping for rain so I don’t have to do a half assed car wash before the race

You are a sharp one Laz. I was wondering when somebody would hit that, I teed it up high enough, even a Gremlin lover like Trappy Boy could hit it.

OK, since I may not be able to entice anyone to finish behind me, especially if I throw it off somewhere, or if one of the championship contenders decides they need an extra 5 points and decide to James Bond me into the grass, I will, if necessary, hand the bottle to… whoever finishes in front of me!

I doubt this weekend will be as boring as the ABU Dubi F1 borefest, Don’t get me wrong i love F1, but unless the championship is on the line I think that track is going to produce some boring races. Now back to our weekend…I think it is stacking up to be a great fight, especially with the hard charging Lazinator in the field, and apparently a little boiling blood still steaming around the paddack. Scott Clough and I intend not to add to the excitement as the Nichols family has learned to play well with the Clough Clan. Scott and I had some very exciting Nose to Tail and side by side battles at Buttonwillow and although he finish on top each time, the 55 car is looking to turn the table.

Laz do you like red or white?

OK…I’ll bite. Where do you want that donut Mr. Small Shoe? You are lucky some of us take our provisional license requirements seriously. I’ll be sure to bring your memento so Scott can sign it!

Hey Adam…your half ass car wash skills SUCK! Drop your car off in the off season for some Speed Trapp Love.

Cheers Guys!

Sean, I’m coming for the Best in Show trophy. Maybe not this race, maybe not the next… but someday
