The SCCA also likes to see something in addition to the stock bracket. I have added a ratchet strap which goes under the rear of the tray, through the metal support under the tray, and over the top of the battery in the negative terminal area. Cheap and easy.

Yes, I should probably cover that little bit of positive terminal showing.

The one shown in the link is virtually identical to what I have in my car. I just bought a set of those rubber terminal “boots” at AutoZone today.
