Barber with NASA Mid-South 2/28 & 3/1 - Who is in?

Who is thinking of going? Like Jim in SE, they have a discounted registration through 12/31.

On the SpecE30 fb page there is a 7Nov post started by Eric Palacio. In that thread is a Google doc that is an attempt to organize folks going to out of region tracks. The Barber event is in there and has 9 folks committed, me among them.

I might be there. Our rough due date is March 6th so it depends on when the baby comes. I would hate to miss an event since I only live 15 min away. lol

Cool, it’s been a while since we’ve seen you Allen. If this is the first kid, it’s always a couple days late.

Of course if it turns out I was wrong, we’ll be carving those words on your tombstone.

lol it will be our first and will be our only. It has been a while since I have been on track. Life happens. lol The motor is finally back in one piece and will be going in the car in the next couple of weeks hopefully. Then doing a few other minor changes and some maintenance and I will be ready to go for 2015. That is Wife and future Allen the III dependent.

I tried to find the event to register today but the link says registration is closed and I can’t find anything for the Mid South region on the events page. Could someone please inform me of how I need to get my registration in? Thanks, ALLEN

From NASA Mid South:

Although it pains us greatly to do so, due to track management mistakenly canceling our date, we have been forced to cancel our February 28 – March 1 Barber Motorsports Park event.
We were notified late last week and after doing everything possible in the interim to try to remedy the situation, we unfortunately have no other option. I want to thank the many people who had already registered as we were going to have an awesome event.
We hope that you will consider attending the October 31- November 1 Barber event (we may actually have a human sacrifice at the awards ceremony of an as yet un-named track official) or one of the Memphis events on our schedule. Due to this late change, we are working with our other track partners to modify our schedule from March through May. We hope to have an announcement by early next week.
Refund options are as follows:
• Option 1: Full refund
• Option 2: Transfer your registration to the October 31 – November 1 Barber event (we expect the Fall date will have a minimum price of $449, so you would still save $50 if you registered prior to December 31)
• Option 3: Partial refund + 10% off of a 2015 Memphis event (normal price $299) – If you paid $399 for Barber, you will receive a refund of $130 and you pick the Memphis event we move your registration to
If you choose Option 1, no action is necessary as we will start processing refunds early next week. If you choose Option 2 or 3, please send Pam an email at midsouth.drivenasa.com as soon as possible and let her know what you would like to do. If you could put Barber Refund in the subject line, that would help as well.
Thanks again for supporting the Mid South region. This is a helluva frustrating way to kick of our 5th year.

The other Barber event is on our Daytona weekend so that doesn’t work.

Do the refunds happen automatically or do we need to do something to have them process? Really bummed this is off the calendar, was really looking forward to racing on a track that I have only do school and track days on.

Should be automatic. I got a refund email notice from Mid-South a few days ago and the $ went back on my card yesterday. Guessing it’s a manual process so they probably are not done yet.
