You guys have some great looking cars. I had a great looking car until a month ago when I hydroplaned into the guardrail on the front straight at VIR in the enduro.

Like everyone told me, take a picture of it right before your first race because, unfortunately it will never look better. I have seen at least 4 newly built and very nice looking cars get body damage in the past two races. It would caution everyone from spending too much money to make they’re cars look perfect. That should be left for your steet car.
I know Simon is not worried about wrecking it, we know that W2W has inherent risk going in, we’re not noobs here.

Simon has damaged his former E30 M3 on a couple occasions, I’d damaged mine once. Heck Simon put my former C Mod E36 M3 into the tire wall at Mid Ohio. My response: all mechanicals are fine, we’ll bump out the dents, no worries. [I should note here that he was sharing my card for the race and he gave me $$$ to cover the damage, a very nice thing to do.]

I don’t mind spending a bit of $$$ to make the car look a bit better. Some do, some don’t, no worries either way as long as one accepts the risks.
I agree Jonny. There are obviously two spec e30 groups. Those that have wrecked and those that haven’t wrecked yet.

One of my instructors once told me, don’t take anything to a race track that you can’t wreck and not cry. Wise words.
And a 3rd group: those who have wrecked cars but don’t mind spending some $$ to make/keep them looking a bit nicer. Nuthin’ wrong with that either. ; )

Gotcha. Do you have plans for your cage yet? Have a fabricator in mind?

Thinking about using a guy who has done some work for a bunch of the guys on here…his name is BJ and I believe he is in or around Alpharetta, Georgia. That is assuming he is available. If not, I’m not sure what I am going to do.

Wow! those are some nice cars. Like it has been said, looks to nice to race. My car looks like dump by comparison.

I was gettign a little scared about being out shined at the track when i saw these cars since i was planning on painting mine in my garage.
After reading the rest of the reply it looks like I am safe for my 50/50 (looks good at 50 feet at 50 MPH)car.
