Axle Thread Pitch

I purchased some used axles and from the threads it looks like someone removed them with a hammer.

I found some info online that said the thread is M24 x 1.5, but purchased a die that size and it’s too big. After checking the axle threads it looks more like an M22 x 1.5 but wondering if anyone here knows before I order another die.

M22x1.5 is correct. I just bought a die to do what you are doing.
