Autopower Cage
There was one in my car when I bought it.
I felt unsafe in it and cut the front half out before I would even take it on track.
Just my opinion.

I’m 6’1" and mildly fat. The cage is made to fit with all of the interior in the car. The A pillar bar from the main hoop forward was so close to my head that I literally had to tilt my head to the right while in the seat to stay off of it. That was WITHOUT a helmet on.
The door bar is a single bar and is mounted way inboard. With the cage in, with my foot on the clutch pedal, the front downtube was touching my leg.
There was no dash bar. The one that would of gone in with it would have gone right under the steering column: knee breaker.
Also, the all of the mounting points bolt into the soft floor board and you can forget about foot protection. I decided that I would rather wait a full year to finance a real cage than risk an accident with a bolt in cage. I wouldn’t trust my life to a bolt in cage. Other opinions may vary as I know others do race with them.

JP,
Do you feel that if the cage were welded in and the proper adjustments/additions were made that it would be a cage you’d trust?
I would definitely have more faith in it if it were fully welded in. However, more than anything, I didn’t lik the positioning of it: Bars and their proximity to my head and body.
If you install one of these in a car with stripped interior, there will be huge gaps between the sheet metal and the bars. Maybe if I was smaller it wouldn’t have been as noticable, but I didn’t like it.
As I said, your experience may differ. This is simply my opinion.
