I’ll start it I guess.
Autobahn results and video thread
1 hour eta for my video to upload to streetfire I would be amazed if it worked the first time.
By Sunday we had 4 cars. Two guys–Robert Schmitt and Rob Rhodes–successfully completed comp school. Congrats to them!
https://vimeo.com/40837882 Video of the start of Race 1 (forgot to recharge the camera). Working on Race 2 tonite. Sneak peak–heavy contact with the tire wall, but the car keeps going!

On the second video (crash), take a look at the attitude of the steeering wheel before, during and after. Before it was alittle misaligned to the right (just didn’t get it straight up when did alignment), during I have alot of opposite lock to the right when I hit meaning the front of the tire was the leading edge), and after, there’s significalntly more misalignment to the right. HOwever, it seemed to track fine down the straights (no pull). Think I need a new alignment, or just remove and readjust the steering wheel?
I think you need to check the alignment front and rear! Got pics of the damage? It didn’t look that bad…
I’m definitely shortening my shift nob for next race. Maybe I’ll use the wooden nob out of ix for luck and style points.
Yah, I’ll check it. The damage was pretty minor. No one really noticed it until I told them I hit the wall. The back of the front fender is caved in.
I’m adding a clutch stop. I think the long uptake on the clutch was throwing me off so I was applying power before the clutch engaged, and my blips would be done before engagement. Clutchy no likey.
Speaking of blipping I didn’t know how to heal & toe until Friday morning in the wet when I spun it on the first lap and realized I had a problem. It was my first time on a wet track. Despite my effort I would have never learned to trail brake either if I hadn’t gone to VIR.
I’m having no luck uploading my videos. Streetfire keeps failing and vimeo just ignores me when I select a file to upload. I need to find the internet so I can plug my sd card into it directly.
I finally got a video uploaded. My video and data slowly become out of sync and I don’t know if it’s a racepack or trackvision problem. My data also starts recording late which is definitely a racepack problem. I will keep trying to get the first part of the video uploaded which has some more excitement. You can fast forward to the last 3rd of the video to see my best lap of the weekend. It says lap 7 but the data didn’t start recording until about 2.5 so I think it’s lap 10. That’s where the video ends I wish I had the more interesting bits with kyle in the video.

Finally got episode one uploaded. http://www.streetfire.net/video/1autobahn042212mov_2383500.htm
Because these engines have negligible torque? Sure was nice to hop into the M3 for the commute on Thursday.
You don’t know negligable torque. Go drive any NA Mazda or Honda product and report back. :woohoo:
