Are there early and late injectors?

Just wondering if injectors are universal for all years.

Someone has generously offered to send me there rebuilt set to get the car on track next weekend but wanted to make sure that they are all interchangeable.

My car is an 87 and I believe the donor set is from an 89.

I believe the injectors are the same but the harnesses are different, but not 100% sure. I know the harnesses and mounting clips are different.

Injectors are the same across model years but later replacement injectors are supposed to be better than the original ones. From what I understand, our original injectors were single “port” or “pintle”, something like that. Later OEM spec replacement injectors are 4 port or pintle, the latter having a better spray pattern. The difference is supposed to be visually apparent, altho I’ve never looked myself. Google should explain how to tell.
