April Mid-Ohio

#1

So, who is going? I am thinking of going and running PT as well. Would that be PTE??? Anyone doing the enduro? I am trying to buy a new house and it may take some time away from racing. So, I am trying to get at least 4 races in April and if I can co-drive with someone in the enduro I can get 5. A one shot weekend.

So does anyone what to co-drive the enduro? Simon? Prfer to not use my car as it will be doing double duty anyway but we could if need be.

Michael

PS: this is all dependent on me getting the car back together after nationals.

Hey Mike, you know I’m signed up. My car should be repaired from Nationals this week. Not sure on the enduro, to me its not that good value for the money its a lot of wear on the car and the fields aren’t that big. Let me think about it.

I will be there for HPDE. Not sure if I will be up just for Friday or for the whole weekend.

Dave, why aren’t you racing yet?

Last year was a bust - I had intended on doing HPDE last year then comp school this spring.

Blew up the engine in May at Putnam and life got in the way of me getting the car fixed/prepped until now.

Given that I have not put rubber on the track since last May, I decided Comp School as my first event this year was not a good choice. That, and I still have to buy my HANS, transponder, fire system, etc.

So, I’ll do a couple of events in HPDE and then Comp School later in the year.

#6

for those doing the HPDE, what group are you running in?

#7

Group 3.

#8

I’m gonna really try to make the mid-ohio event, if not I’m definitely in for Putnam.

#9

Group 1.

Guys, The first race for our car should be Putnam in May. It’s essentially ready to go, just needs graphics/labeling and a new log book. In fact, we are going to Putnam this weekend to get familiar with the car and see if there are items that need to be worked out that we are not aware of.
Kyle & Sean are doing the comp school at the MidO event on Friday, and I’m driving a different car/class for that weekend but we’ll try to come by and introduce ourselves.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Well I got the car back together and all aligned up. Changed the oil and loaded it up on the trailer to go. Signed up for PT and Spec E30 as well as Friday. Look for me camping the the triler all weekend. Family comes up on Friday evening.

Anyone want to get together and either cook out or hit a tavern? Simon, you bringing your new bride?

If the car runs like it did at Nationals and handles like it did before the Ledgend got into me I can finaly start working on the driver again. Need to gain that extra second on Simon.

Let’s set up a time for a Spec E30 get together and dinner.

Sounds good, I’m down for whatever. I’m pretty sure Shannon is coming. We might even camp! I bought a tent that I’ll be trying out at VIR in a couple of weeks. Depends on the weather as Shannon isn’t really down with the camping thing. If I had to guess I’d say we will be in a hotel. I won’t be there for Friday. I still don’t have my car back but it should be done at the end of this week. Fingers crossed or I won’t be going to VIR. Anyway try to save some space on Friday so we can hang out. See you soon.

I’ll be coming up Friday - not sure on the time. I have court appearances that morning which will keep me tied up until around noon, and I am a good 2Hrs+ from the track. My best guess is that I will be rolling in around 5-6pm. If the weather looks fair, I may be camping.

Are you guys going to try and have an area together in the paddock?

Probably not in the paddock, but up in the grassy area. I’ll let Osborne pick out a spot as he’ll be there first.

#16

How much room do we need? Enough for 4 or 5 cars? Anyone have any preference on where in the grass? The spot I had for nationals was good but I may try to get closer down so not to walk as far.

Give me input.

That area where you were when I met you up there last April was pretty good, Mike. Right there at the bottom of the grassy area - fairly close to everything.

I won’t need much room - if I trailer the car up there, it will be on an open trailer that I can park off in the nether regions.

I see Michael in PTE, but that’s it. Simon, are you still coming?

#19

I signed up ages ago, I’m going to send a note to someone because Carlton Goldthwaite is coming too from the Mid Atlantic and he is showing on the enduro list but no spec E30 cars.

I am not sure why and I emailed about it but somehow they are not showing all the participants. It only seems to show those for Sat and Sun. When I emailed they said they had me for Sat Sun PT and Fri Sat and Sun for Spec E30. I would say everything is OK but may want to check.
