Anyone run a convertable?

I was just currious if anyone has gotten a convertable on the track yet. I keep finding them for sale and thought it would be a cool idea to get one out there. I wonder if you could event get them to meet minimum weight or get them to the same chasis stiffness with a full cage.

With the # of 325i coupes built, why mess with a convertible? The first issue that comes to mind is rain, which tends to happen often on race weekends

My advice is wait till a good 325i Manual Coupe becomes availible. It’s worth a drive, or short flight to get a good one.

It’s an interesting idea…aerodynamics and tub stiffness wouldn’t be as good but Rain X your helmet shield and you’re ready to go.

But yes, I would build a hardtop again but if someone wants to build a convert, go for it!

Could you put a fiberglass hardtop on it like the SpecMiatas?
