Anyone had problems with these bushings?

#1

With brand new c-arms, we had problems with one of these bushings (passenger side) not lining up.

Any ideas? Anyone else experience something similar? I don’t believe the frame is tweaked, the car has no DOT-R pieces.

Thanks,
Stu

Stu,

I had the same concern when I was putting everthing back together, including new control arms. The brackets luckily aligned and just popped onto the two bolt bosses on each side.

Is this with the strut already mounted to the control arm? I did mine first without the strut mounted.

Chris,

Nitin had the front subframe off for reinforcement, and after he put it back on we attacked the c-arms and bushings. Struts were out of the way, but the lollipop would come 1/8-1/4" from the ‘nipples’ on the unibody rail. Grinding was necessary to make them fit. At first we thought the C-arms were incorrect (i.e. late-model E36), but they were the right p/n.

Was just curious if anyone else had this issue.

Happily, the entire Spec suspension is in the car now and performing like it should!
