Was planning on driving in HPDE, but have been having some problems with my suspension, which started last week on my way home from Summit. The springs popped out of place and the top perch was binding. (See thread for details: http://spece30.com/forum/10-steering-and-suspension/59098-locking-springs-in-place) I popped the springs back into place, but I’m not sure that everything feels right. I plan on coming out anyway. Would somebody be able to take a look to see what you think might be going on? Thanks.
Anyone going to Summit 20-21 August?
AH HEMMM, Mr. Chairman of the Board…that’s “Spec E 30 Grand Masters Championship Tour” if you don’t mind…
on that note…Rick “the Italian Stalion” Mariani received, post race, 25,000 Grand Master Points for the front sway bar “senior moment” and so is still leading the championship…watch out Rick, Ott and I have you in our sights!
Doesn’t mean he knows what he’s looking at. I’d be happy to look over Kish’s shoulder as well. Not a complicated suspension, can’t be too hard to figure it out.

Thanks everyone. I’m thinking its probably something simple too. Hopefully we can figure it out early in the day so that I can at least sign up for a Hyperdrive. If I do that, are there any instructors here who could ride with me? Would love to get opinions on how the car feels.
It was great meeting everyone and thanks for the help. I was able to get my suspension sorted out. See you all at the next event.
hey sorry we didn’t get to chat more later… what was the issue in the end? was nice meeting you tony.
Interesting weekend, a cracked line at the oil pressure sending unit led to a few smokey laps…and then when it finally broke off it led to me watching the race from the T10 flag stand. Congrats to Rob Gagliardo on his first MA win!
Got it patched up Saturday evening and was ready for Sunday, Quali came early at 8:45. Unfortunately my hot lap was only good enough for third. The weather came in and it was another one of those day where tire choice was going to be an issue…then it started pouring and eliminated any doubt. Once we rolled off grid it stopped raining of course and all of us were running out rains on a drying track. I was able to go from 3rd to 1st in a lap or so and was excited about pulling out a comfortable gap until the double-yellows came out. We had what felt like 20 laps under caution before we went back racing. The end of the race was very short and you could tell be everyone’s pace that they knew the checkered could come out any lap. Gagliardo and I had a good last lap race and crossed the stripe something like 0.11 seconds apart. Matt Russell ended up 3rd, Skip Bennett 4th and Rick Mariani finished 5th after starting 13th! Great drive, Rick.

Nice weekend. We had a good showing of drivers, 16, I believe.
I qualified on pole on Saturday and finished 1st. My first MA win!
Sunday I qualified 2nd and finished 2nd behind Mr. Grace.
Both races I set the fastest lap time and on Sunday I had the 3rd fastest overall lap.

Kish,
I’m not sure what the issue was…guess the springs just weren’t seated right. When I put the car back down after adjusting the springs, everything felt great again.
