I noticed on another thread that several folks have bought Momo Cup seats. I’m trying to find someone local (Colorado front range) who has one I can test-sit. In the meantime, anybody know how they compare size-wise to the Sparco 2000?
Another seat question
I have a Momo Cup VTR seat. Unfortunately I’m in NC, not CO. But when I was looking for seats, I was told that a Sparco 2000 would be too narrow for my comfort (I’m 5’-10 1/2" and weigh 200 lbs.: lard-ass). I have sat in a Sparco Evo 2 and found that comfortable, though.
Good luck,
Sasha
We have Momo Cup GT seats - Mike and I are 5’9" and 5’7" respectively - about 140#. Seat is very comfortable with plenty of room. Like the shoulder flairs. We puchased them from ltbmotorsports. Ed
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like Ed and Mike bracket me size-wise. I can wedge myself into a S 2000, and according to the sizing charts the Momo cup is a smidge wider. I’m still gonna try to find someone closer than NC to sit in one.

Sasha, I am pretty close to your size (5’11", 200 lbs). I guess I am a lard ass too. Where is a link to the mono VTR? Vendors?
Does anyone have a seat that folds forward to allow access to the back seat for tires, tools, etc? Remember, I don’t have atow vehicle/trailer and plan to drive my car to the track most of the time.
Don
I lucked out and bought a pair of never-installed seats on eBay for about $600 shipped. I think LTB Motorsports in Florida and Saferacer both sell the Momo Cup seats for around the same price, which is about $450.
I don’t have a tow vehicle either, so I had Bret Luter (Rigmaster) make me a little custom trailer hitch to tow a tag-along trailer. I would personally be a bit leary of any seat mechanism that would permit it to fold forward, but then again it’s really the belts that are holding you from smashing through the dash.
Good luck,
Sasha
A thought, though it may not be practical. My Austin Mini has seats that tip forward…the entire seat flips front. The top of the seat rests against the windshield and permits access to the rear seat. Wouldn’t be hard to put a pivot on a race seat floor mount. The only problem is the Mini doesn’t have headrests, so I don’t know if there would be enough room for a proper race seat to tilt forward the whole way in the BMW. Might work.
I would only do this kind of stuff on the passenger seat, and for the amount of time it takes to screw/unscrew the 4 bolts that hold the seat in place, I would just dismount the seat for trips.
cheers,
bruce

Just a wild guess, but… a tilting seat mount won’t pass tech. (It won’t even pass tech for some organizations’ HPDE’s.) Even O.G. Racing, who sells them recommends against installing them in a race car.
15.16.2 Seat Mounting
The seat should be mounted to a steel floor pan with reinforcements. A reinforcement structure should be fabricated with a minimum thickness of 0.090 for those vehicles without a steel floor pan. The reinforcement structure should be mounted to (or within) the steel frame / chassis / cage members.
