Due to some poor research (and judgement) on my part, I just bought an '87 325e thinking it was an ‘i’. The price was reasonable, but now obviously I have to replace the engine. I did a search, and looked through several pages of threads on here, but I still have a question: As long as the car has the correct ‘square’ engine harness, and it has ABS, is there any other problems with using an ‘e’ car? I read on one thread that they won’t be allowed after the '09 season, but is that referring to ‘e’ cars that still have an ‘e’ engine? Before I sink any more money into the car, I want to make sure there’s nothing I’m forgetting. I could just try to resell it, or even turn it into a DD.
Thanks,
Rob

No problem at all. Plenty of 87 SpecE30 cars started life as E cars. Get the I engine harness and it drops right in.
